Explorers Hiking Club – Erwin Park Trail (McKinney)

Difficulty Level: Moderate
Overview: The trail meanders around the perimeter of a nice 212 acre park with a little elevation gain. This trail is very popular with mountain bikers because it includes a skills park for bikes. The trail can be divided into two loops (north and south) that begin and end at the first parking lot across from the skills park. You can combine both loops for a nice long hike.

North Loop – Miles/Duration: 7 miles / ~3.5 hours
South Loop – Miles/Duration: 3 miles / ~1.5 hours
Notes: This is a gated park that opens at 8 a.m. and closes at sunset. The parking lot across from the skills park fills up quickly but a little farther down the road is more parking on the roadside at the trailhead for the north loop.
