2023 Summertime Activities
National Summertime Award
Pack 443 Cub Scouts who participate in three summertime activities (one each in June, July, and August) are eligible for the award pin to wear on the right pocket flap of their uniform!
Here you can find information about Pack 443’s offerings as well as BSA Iron Horse District and Circle Ten Council events. Please be sure to RSVP and have a current Annual Health and Medical Record on file.
Note: Please wear your red Pack 443 activity shirt for all summertime activities for easy group identification.
Pack 443 Summertime Activities
The Dallas Area Rocket Society (DARS) is one of the largest, and the oldest Texas chapter, of the NAR (National Association of Rocketry). They have been promoting sport and hobby rocketry throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex nonstop for over 50 years.
We will join their June launch event where the boys can watch rocket launches and even bring their own to launch!
This is an excellent opportunity to stoke our boys’ interest in science, math, aerospace or engineering.
When: June 17th from 10am-12pm
Where: DARS Gunter launch site (exact Google Map coordinates for nav, look for red gate with DARS sign)
Cost: Kids launch free!
Prep: Buy and assemble a model rocket kit. Cubmaster Matt’s favorite spot to shop is Hobbytown in Lewisville or Plano.
What to bring: Model rocket (including recovery wadding and engines), water, chairs, sunscreen, snacks, etc.

Join us at the Frisco Athletic Center for an afternoon of water slides, lazy river, and more!
Don’t forget your sunscreen!
When: July 16th from 12-2pm
Where: Frisco Athletic Center
Cost: Day Pass $11-$13
We will gather at Nerfies in Plano for some fun! Nerfies has a large indoor “war zone” with Nerf guns, unlimited darts, retro arcade games, and inflatable games. You can also bring your own food and drinks!
When: July 30th from 12-2pm
Where: Nerfies
Cost:$15 (if we’re 10+ RSVPs) or $18
Instead of ice skating, we will be gathering to watch the new Ninja Turtles movie at Flix Brewhouse!
We have a private screening on Theater 3 with a max of 74 total attendees. Families are welcome to attend together!
There will be a full menu, so come hungry!
Theater 3 will open at 11:30am and movie will begin at 12pm sharp.
Cost: $10.50 + food/drink

Tickets are first come, first serve. Max of six tickets per family.
